Lauhala (mats woven from dried pandanus leaves):  Lauhala is a popular motif, indicating family, the generations in the family, the extended family, and the connections to people we meet. 

We made this beautiful earring as a reminder of the connection we all have to one another.  Hawaiians distinguish five kinds of the hala tree according to the color and size of the fruits:  We made this particular color of earring to portray the yellow fruit Hala melemele.
